Local Roots — Germany 🇩🇪
Decades of British Forces Germany (BAOR, RAF Germany) presence mean many veterans settled locally near former bases such as Rheindahlen and Paderborn. If you served in HM Armed Forces before settling in Germany, you may be entitled to compensation for hearing damage sustained during service.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before making your claim.
I served in the UK Armed Forces but I live in Germany now — can I still claim?
Yes. Your entitlement comes from your UK service and is progressed under UK law, regardless of where in Germany you now live.
Will I need to travel to the UK for my hearing test?
No. We arrange visiting audiologist appointments in Germany during scheduled visit windows. If no visit is currently scheduled near you, we’ll register your details and contact you once one is confirmed.
Who can make a hearing loss claim?
Anyone who served in the UK Armed Forces and developed hearing loss or tinnitus because of military service may be eligible.
Is there a time limit to make a claim?
Generally, you have 3 years from diagnosis, or 6 years from leaving service if symptoms were already present. If you only recently linked your condition to your service, the clock may start from that point instead.
Will claiming affect my military pension?
No. Compensation for hearing loss or tinnitus is completely separate from your military pension. Claiming will not reduce or affect your existing pension in any way.
Does it cost anything to check my eligibility?
Absolutely not. Our eligibility check is 100% free with no obligation. If you proceed with a claim, we work on a no win, no fee basis — you don’t pay anything upfront.
How much compensation could I receive?
Compensation depends on the severity of your hearing loss and medical evidence. Our team can provide a free estimate.
Do I need a solicitor to make a claim?
You don’t need to find one yourself. We partner with specialist solicitors who handle military claims. We manage the entire process for you — you just provide the information.
How long does a claim take?
Most claims are resolved within 6 to 18 months, depending on complexity. Straightforward hearing loss claims tend to be faster. We’ll give you a realistic timeline during your free case review.
What if I left the military many years ago?
You can still claim. Many of our clients served 20+ years ago. As long as you served after May 1987 and have hearing loss or tinnitus connected to your service, you may be eligible.
